The Olive Tree

In Greek Mythology, the olive tree is a symbol of eternity, peace and wisdom.

In the Bible and Koran the olive tree is also mentioned for it special meaning. With it’s characteristic appearance and beautiful silver-grey leaves it is a real eye catcher in any garden, near the swimming pool or in a corporate setting.

The olive tree, Olea Europaea, is one of the oldest cultivated trees in the world. The Olea Europaea is an evergreen plant, it sprouts at low winter temperatures and with lots of sun in the spring. A big advantage of these olive trees is that they are winter resistant to approximately -10 - 15C.

This means it is now possible to create a Mediterranean atmosphere in any garden. The olive tree is low maintenance, just needs lot of (natural) light and little water.
